Common pitfalls
FAQ
What is the difference between ET and EB?
The EB is flexible — no employment proof needed. The ET is specific to technicians with a Cambodian employer. Many technicians use EB for convenience.
Does the ET visa alone allow legal work?
No. The ET visa authorises residence; a separate MoLVT work permit is always required to work. The two procedures are complementary.
Which professions qualify as ‘technician’?
Engineers, doctors, lecturers, IT specialists, specialised consultants… The list is not exhaustive — immigration decides case by case based on the file.
Must my employer sponsor the application?
Yes — the ET requires a work contract or mission letter from a registered Cambodian company.
