Single-entry tourist visa, valid for 30 days.
No on-site renewal. To stay longer, exit and return on a Business visa (EB).

Free visa issued to guests of the Cambodian government (NGOs, IOs, foundations, dignitaries).
Issued by the embassy on official invitation (ministry, IO, foreign government). Not available via e-Visa or VOA.

Visa for holders of a diplomatic (A) or service / official (B) passport on a government or IO mission.
Diplomatic or service passport mandatory. Verbal note from the sending government required. Free, embassy only.

Visa reserved for people of Khmer origin holding a foreign passport (diaspora, Khmer Krom, Khmer of Surin).
Free (proof of Khmer origin required: parent's birth certificate, old KH passport, etc.). Multi-entry, unlimited stay, valid until passport expiry, no work permit.

The E (Ordinary) visa is the standard long-stay visa, issued at 35 USD on entry. Once here, you extend it via a typed extension matching your situation (Business, Retired, Student, Technician, General). The extension determines your real rights in Cambodia.
Standard long-stay visa, issued for 30 days on entry. Must be extended (EB, ER, ES, ET or EG) before expiry to stay longer.
Mandatory base visa before any Ordinary extension. On entry you receive 30 days; you must then file the extension request (EB, ER, ES, ET or EG) BEFORE expiry to stay legally.

Business extension of the Ordinary (E) visa. For employed expats or business owners. Indefinitely renewable.
The work permit is legally required every year (1 January to 31 March). Renew at the end of each extension period. Also covers spouse, children and freelancers / self-employed.

Retired extension of the Ordinary (E) visa. For 55+ only, annually renewable, no work permit.
Proof of age required (passport). No work permit needed since you can't work.

Student extension of the Ordinary (E) visa. For studying at a recognised institution in Cambodia.
Admission letter from the institution required.

Technician extension of the Ordinary (E) visa. For technicians training or working short-term in Cambodia.
Often requested for short paid assignments.

General extension of the Ordinary (E) visa. For job search or initial settling-in without a declared activity yet.
Ordinary E "General" subclass — allows stay for job search, paperwork, accompanying a spouse. To work for pay, switch to EB and obtain a work permit.

Nationals of the following ASEAN countries are exempt from a visa for short tourist stays. The exemption does not waive the digital arrival card on arrival.gov.kh.
