Common pitfalls
FAQ
What is the difference between EG and EB?
Very little in practice — both renew annually with no required justification. Agents will steer you to one or the other based on availability.
Does the EG allow working?
Not directly — a separate MoLVT work permit is required for local paid employment.
Is EG suitable for digital nomads?
Yes, it is a common choice. Grey area tolerated for foreign-sourced income.
Can EG be renewed indefinitely?
There is no legal limit on renewals — some residents have done it for 10+ years.
