MoEYS (Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport)

Cambodia’s Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. Responsible for the public education system (pre-school to university) and for regulation / accreditation of private and international schools operating in Cambodia.

For expat families, the MoEYS plays an indirect role:

• Issuance / renewal of accreditation of private schools (LFRD, ISPP, NISC, iCAN, etc.).
• Validation of foreign diploma equivalences (useful for local schooling or university studies for a Cambodian child returning from abroad).
• Coordination with the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE) on the status of Lycée français René Descartes.
