Prudential (Cambodia) Life Assurance Plc. is the Cambodian subsidiary of Prudential plc, a British group founded in 1848 and listed in London and Hong Kong, which has operated exclusively in Asia and Africa since the 2021 demerger (M&G having taken over the European business). Active in Cambodia since 2013, Prudential is one of the country's three dominant international life insurers, alongside AIA and Manulife. The offer focuses on life insurance, long-term savings, critical-illness protection, education and retirement; health is offered as additional cover ("PRUHealth Plus"). Prudential stands out for a particularly dense agent network ("PRU Agency Force") and several bancassurance agreements, including an exclusive partnership with Acleda Bank — Cambodia's largest bank by number of branches — which makes Prudential available right into the provinces. For expats, Prudential leans on regional portability (present in 24 Asia + Africa markets, including Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines) and group strength (A+ rating at S&P). The company is regulated by the IRC and publishes an annual solvency report. Like Manulife and AIA, the Prudential health block remains positioned as a complement to a life policy; for full-scale international expat health cover, it is advisable to also take out April, Allianz Care, Cigna or equivalent. Documentation is in English and Khmer; no local French support.
