Proteva Insurance Plc. is a more recent Cambodian general insurer (launched in 2018), regulated by the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia (IRC) and positioned across the entire non-life market: vehicle (motor, motorbike, fleet), home, travel, group and individual health, personal accident, marine and freight, construction and engineering, business for SMEs and large accounts. The company seeks to differentiate through a more digital approach than the local market average: online subscription, mobile app, and a simplified claims process. Shareholding is Cambodian with a stake held by Asian partners. For expats in Cambodia, Proteva is mainly used for motor / motorbike and group health employer contracts; for individual expat health, international players (April, Allianz Care, Cigna, Now Health) remain preferred given their higher caps. Proteva is approved by the GDLT to issue the vehicle insurance certificate at registration. Competitive rates, particularly for mid-range imported cars and motorbikes. Documentation and customer service in English and Khmer; no French version. As with any unrated local insurer, reading the IRC report is recommended to assess solidity before subscribing.
