Cambodian Vietnamese Insurance Plc. (CVI) is a Cambodian general insurer created in 2009 through a Chinese-Vietnamese-Cambodian partnership, with a strong presence in corporate cover and an agent network historically based on the Vietnamese business community in Cambodia. CVI is regulated by the Insurance Regulator of Cambodia (IRC) and covers all non-life lines: vehicle (motor, motorbike, fleet), home, travel, group health, personal accident, marine and freight (a line where CVI is particularly competitive given its ties to the Vietnamese logistics sector), construction and engineering, as well as commercial insurance (SMEs and large accounts). For expats in Cambodia, CVI is mainly used for vehicle insurance (motor and motorbike) and business cover — less often for individual health, where specialist players (April, Allianz Care, Now Health, AURAS) are preferred. CVI is approved by the GDLT to issue the vehicle insurance certificate at the time of registration. Rates are competitive, particularly on fleets and cargo / freight cover. The branch network covers Phnom Penh and several provincial cities, with language support in English, Khmer and Vietnamese — useful for Vietnamese expats and Sino-Vietnamese companies operating in Cambodia. No French version.
